My Machine is not the best but more then capable enough to run this game:ġ6,0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 800MHz (11-11-11-28) So it looks like its an engine / optimization problem. But over time and with more and more units the performance goes down more and more. If i start a skirmish match it starts with 160 -120 fps. But the game performs better in tactical pause mode. I don't know if the devs will give us a DoK-Carrier-like Mothership in Homeworld 3, and that might be a bridge too far for some people if they do, but I for one wouldn't be against it.I have a really strange problem with this game.
#HOMEWORLD 3 LEAK FULL#
I believe that, in-universe (and retroactively), both the Mothership and the Pride of Hiigara were intended to be outfitted with a full defensive armament, much like the Kushan's previous experience with mothership-like ground Carriers, it's just that they keep getting into situations where they have to rush things. And the Pride of Hiigara wasn't even that complete when the Vagyr forced the Hiigaran's hand.
#HOMEWORLD 3 LEAK MANUAL#
Remember, the original Mothership was going back to the Scaffold for final outfitting and drive tuning after testing the hyperdrive, it's just that the Taiidan visited first - there was even mention in the manual of plans for more weapons to be fitted to it after the test, iirc. Fully combat-capable (once upgraded), but doing so took away from other functions, with you being able to reallocate power as you went. I liked the way the Kapisi worked in DoK. Even after that, the Kuun-Lan is the only ship you have that can carry the highly useful Siege Cannon, thus giving it a combat role not adequately filled by other ships. In that context giving the Kuun-Lan more powerful guns is much more necessary, since your only other source of big ships until that point is salvaged vessels that are highly vulnerable to infection by the Beast. The majority of the campaign is spent not being able to make even destroyers. In Cataclysm, you gain the ability to build Destroyers in System AZ-23769, Mission 11, out of 17 total missions. In the original Homeworld you usually gain the ability to build destroyers in Diamond Shoals, Mission 6 out of 16 total. For a great deal of the game it's the only thing you have that could be considered a capital ship. I'd kinda like to see more Kuun-Lan or Sajuuk-esque motherships (Kuun-Lan did it better), but that's mostly just me liking Cataclysm and preferring the more rag-tag feel.Ģ. The majority of the campaign is spent not being able to make even destroyers (and you never get to make dedicated anti-capital frigates).
Your "mothership" eventually becomes more like a small flotilla in its own right.Ģ. It's a lot smaller than the Mothership in a much smaller fleet, and eventually your support modules end up expanding onto your carriers. The Kuun-Lan's a bit of a special case since :ġ. Would you rather your limited supply of guns and crew be on your mothership, a very slow platform that you don't want anywhere near a pitched battle and will be slowed down even more by the added weight of guns, or on much more mobile ships that can either perform independent missions or guard the mothership, rather than do just one? Eh, it's less about psychology and more about the fact that guns aren't cheap and crew is limited.
